Up through the South Wales coalfields , taking in miners terraces before the real climbing starts, away from civilisation through the old stomping ground of Guto Nyth Brân. A payoff of a fast descent through ‘the bull’ back to Pontypridd. Don’t eat too much at the Park View Cafe control because the next climb out of Cilfynydd will bring it back. Enjoy the Hengoed high level viaduct and quick down Pandy Lane to Bedwas. Take to Sustrans route 4 to Hobbit country and into Cardiff. We cross the water on the Cardiff Bay Barrage then head up the Ely trail towards St fagans and up to Pentyrch before the last fast descent to the finish

Coryton, Cardiff

A super hilly 100km classic that feels like a 200. Hardly any flat ground and lots of significant climbing. The views are beautiful if you have the legs for it.
